Welcome

Hello and welcome to my blog.

My name is Savvas Kleanthous. Hello to everyone who knows me 👋 I was born in southern part of Cyprus, but I’ve been living in London for the past 6-7 years now. I am the Head of Engineering for ParcelVision and we are creating a set of services for large retailers and logistic-related companies. I have been working with DDD, CQRS and Event sourcing for quite a while now, as I find that paradigm to be particularly interesting to me, and I also enjoy the challenges which usually merit such an approach.

I will mostly be blogging about development, software architecture, process, and team management stuff here. Don’t be surprised to see the odd welding-related, cooking, or maker article though, as I love working with things outside of software. I do however have a lot of material regarding software topics which I want to discuss, which I want to write about first.

You can easilly find topics using categories (on the side-menu), or by tags (also on the side menu).

Please do not hesitate to contact me through twitter, I will generally respond quite soon, and I do quite love to have discussions about what I’ll be writing in this blog.

For the curious: this blog was made using Hugo. I considered 11ty, and I really liked it too, but I found hugo to be more complete and had the features which I was interested in (well mostly). I use the Mainroad hugo theme which I think is really good, although it is quite heavilly changed with a new colour theme and fonts. I am still working on adding good search functionality (the search function uses google, so don’t expect anything nice yet), but I hope it’ll be there soon.
